School and Soccer have begun

Summer vacation is now a memory and school has begun. Well, for Bethany. Brooke starts next week. Alex has gone back to his mom's and will visit once a month. Bethany and Brooke have also started up their fall soccer season. Sarah might be a little lonely at home.

Here are all the kids before Alex went back to Layton. We'd just returned from the water park so they are all a bit tired and wet.

August 21, 2013: First day of 4th grade

Bethany in our yearly location. We had to be on the outside of the post this year cause it was so crowded by the doors. So, she's a bit sunny.

 Her teacher is doing a puzzle theme in their room. She found her name before we went into class.

A new soccer season

Sarah is the girls' cheerleader. Although at this game she kept cheering for the opposing team, much to Brooke's protests.

Brooke is 5!

Don't be fooled by that smirk. She's super excited to be having a birthday today. When asked what she'd like to have for her birthday dinner -- Chuck-A-Rama. Just can't get away from that place.

Cutie cousins

Lily is so well-loved. My girls can't get enough of her. All the other kids were playing and Brooke was content to lay on the floor just holding Lily's hand. And when the camera is in sight they all want to be near her for a picture.

Happy 9th Birthday Bethany!

Bethany is super excited it's her birthday. She woke up to her decorated door. Brooke and Sarah kept hugging her and telling her Happy Birthday. And she brought popsicles to school for her class.

Ice Skating at Seven Peaks

This was about the only time Sarah went on the ice. She hated ice skating. She let Sean hold her and go around a few times, but it was not her favorite.

Brooke is the independent one. She went around a few times on her own with the walker. Then she decided to give it a try with nothing but the wall. She did great.

She even went out a few times with Dad.

Bethany liked having the walker for balance. She did pretty good. Only one fall. She mostly just wanted to be with her friends!

Bethany has glasses

Bethany has glasses. She's super excited about them. She was amazed to see the trees on the mountains, which she thought were just blobs of color. This made Mom very sad she didn't take her in sooner to get her eyes checked.
